About the Program

This program provides a unique opportunity for founders to receive support and mentorship from both Techstars and Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG), an award-winning group of 1,800 physicians spanning more than 60 medical specialties and nearly 300 staff professionals, and the exclusive care provider of Kaiser Permanente in the Washington D.C., Virginia, and Maryland region.

$220K Investment and Other Benefits. In addition to our 3-month mentorship-driven accelerator program, we make a $220,000 investment into each company in the program (see terms), provide access to our world-class network of investors, mentors, and alumni, and provide $2M+ worth of perks from partners.

Pilot Opportunity and Themes. We seek exceptional startups that are well-positioned to pursue a pilot with Permanente Medicine. While any solution that can meaningfully advance care across MAPMG's specialties and institutes will be considered, we are particularly interested in those focused on six themes listed below.

Core Themes:

The following six areas represent our strongest convictions about where innovative solutions could have the greatest impact across care delivery, access, and outcomes.

  • Friction Reduction: Designing access that is simple, equitable, and consistent so patients can receive care when and where they need it. → Read More

  • Building Trust in Clinical Care: Strengthening trust between patients and physicians, among care teams, and between patients and the technologies that support care delivery. → Read More

  • Women’s Health: Closing gaps in care for conditions that uniquely, differently, or disproportionately affect women. → Read More

  • Care at Home: Expanding the ability to safely deliver care in the home to improve convenience, outcomes, and affordability, including shifting appropriate acute care from hospitals to the home or other alternate settings. → Read More
