By David Cohen, Founder and CEO of Techstars
Last October, Tim Dorr and I shared our intentions for “the next season” of Techstars in Atlanta at the final Demo Day for the Techstars Atlanta, powered by Cox Enterprises accelerator. Today, we’re excited to confirm: Techstars Atlanta is renewed for season two.
This next iteration of Techstars Atlanta continues our presence in the city, operating as a startup community partnership, a community-backed and locally supported initiative that has access to Techstars’ global network and resources.
Our history with Atlanta runs deep. Launched in 2016, the Techstars Atlanta, powered by Cox Enterprises accelerator, helped shape the city’s startup ecosystem. During our 9-year partnership, we graduated 90 startups from 9 accelerator classes, contributing to Atlanta’s prominence as a tech hub.
What makes this next chapter special is that the Atlanta startup community is now at the helm. A board of distinguished Atlanta startup leaders will guide the initiative. This includes Tim, who served as the managing director for Techstars Atlanta and is also the co-founder of Salesloft, one of the largest startups to come out of Atlanta (and a Techstars portfolio company). Joining Tim are Landon Howell, Justin Dawkins, Chris Moreno, and Jen Singh. All are deeply invested in their city’s success.
The team is currently building out the new startup community partnership program and actively seeking community input and support. If you’re passionate about supporting Atlanta’s startup ecosystem, head over to Tim’s post on Hypepotamus and let him know you’d like to get involved.
