Techstars, the global platform for investment and innovation, will host 16 virtual Accelerator Demo Days in April and May. Techstars’ top priority is maintaining the health and safety of everyone in the startup community, while continuing to provide resources to support the Techstars global network through this crisis. The company is looking forward to delivering the high-quality, high-value experience founders, partners, mentors and investors have come to expect in a new way that meets the needs of today.
Techstars has the experience needed to make these changes successfully. They have operated virtual programs and demo days previously, including the Techstars Anywhere Accelerator, which is specifically designed to operate virtually. Techstars also employs more than 300 people in 22 countries, most of whom are remote workers. Leaning on this expertise, Techstars is moving to virtual operations at scale while social distancing and other measures are needed to keep everyone safe.
“We are well-positioned to make the shift to a virtual program model for as long as it is required to keep everyone safe and healthy,” said David Brown, CEO of Techstars. “Using the right technologies and tapping the best talent and experience in the startup community, we will continue on our mission to support startup communities around the world with meaningful connections and lively, engaging experiences.”
All 16 of the Techstars Term 1 2020 programs are shifting to the virtual Demo Day format effective immediately. While a different experience, the virtual format allows founders to connect more broadly with investors, without the barriers that can come with time zones and physical locations.
