As the Web3 space is moving at a lightning-fast pace, we wanted the Web3 founder community to have the benefit of insights from some of the leading minds globally even before the Launchpool Web3 Techstars Accelerator kicks off in April 2022.

So, we launched our Web3 Convo Series earlier in November with a fireside chat with Michelle Tsing, who is an active mentor in the Web3 space at the Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator and for Singularity University Ventures.  

We followed that up with a fireside chat with John Wu, President of Ava Labs, on November 23rd.  Tons of insights on building on Avalanche and what makes a great Web3 project are available in the shownotes of the MoneyNeverSleeps podcast episode featuring this chat.

Next up on November 30th is Joey Krug, Co-Chief Investment Officer at Pantera Capital, the first institutional investment firm focused exclusively on bitcoin, other digital currencies, and companies in the blockchain tech ecosystem.  This fireside chat and interactive crowd Q&A with Joey and Pete Townsend, leader of the Launchpool Web3 Techstars Accelerator, will provide insights on:

• How being early in crypto impacts how Joey thinks about Web3

• Building the right founder-to-VC relationship from the start

• Leading indicators of what makes a high-quality Web3 project

In 2013, Joey built a point of sale system enabling Bitcoin payments with sound and Bluetooth. In 2014, he left Pomona College to co-found one of the first projects on Ethereum, Augur, a decentralized prediction market platform and solution to the oracle problem designed to allow people to speculate on anything. He also started an AngelList syndicate which is now in the top 15 by backing. In 2017, he joined Pantera Capital as Co-CIO to help oversee the funds’ various investments.
