1. Which is the industry that you are addressing?

Industrial operations are significant contributors to global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, accounting for approximately 25% of total emissions. This substantial share underscores the critical need for effective monitoring and management of emissions within the industrial sector.

Traditional emission monitoring methods often rely on secondary data sources, such as utility billing information and periodic manual reporting. These approaches can lead to inaccuracies and delays, hindering timely decision-making and effective emission control. The lack of real-time, precise data impedes industries from implementing proactive measures to reduce their carbon footprint and comply with environmental regulations.

Nditive addresses this challenge by providing advanced, AI-driven sensor technologies and digital twin systems that enable real-time monitoring of greenhouse gases like CO₂ and methane. Our platform offers industries actionable insights to streamline operations, reduce emissions, and enhance compliance, setting new standards in industrial efficiency.

Our solutions align with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.

  • SDG 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.

  • SDG 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

  • SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

By equipping industries with tools to manage Scope 1 (direct) and Scope 2 (indirect) emissions, Nditive enables compliance with environmental standards while fostering sustainable growth.

2. How did the idea of creating the company come to mind? How did your team come to be?

The idea for Nditive stems from over a decade of collaboration and mutual respect between Dr. Salar Salahi and Dr. Seyed Nabavi. The two met during their master’s studies more than ten years ago and have since maintained a strong professional and personal connection. Their combined expertise and shared passion for solving real-world industrial challenges laid the foundation for creating Nditive.

Salar, with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, has extensive experience in industrial management and operations. Over the years, he has worked on optimizing manufacturing processes and addressing operational inefficiencies, gaining firsthand insights into industries' pressing challenges, particularly in emissions management and safety.

Dr. Seyed Nabavi, with a PhD in Electrical Engineering, brings a wealth of expertise in sensor technology and intellectual property (IP). He has developed patents in wearable device technologies and has a deep understanding of how to protect and commercialize advanced sensing solutions. His background in designing high-precision sensors and working on wearable parent devices made him uniquely equipped to tackle the technical challenges of real-time monitoring systems.

Their complementary skill sets—Salar’s operational expertise and Seyed’s technical innovation—came together when they identified the inefficiencies in current industrial emissions monitoring systems, which often rely on secondary data like billing information. They realized that industries needed a proactive, real-time solution to monitor and control emissions while improving safety and efficiency.

By pooling their knowledge and leveraging their years of academic and professional experience, Salar and Seyed developed a patent-pending gas sensor technology integrated with a SaaS-based digital twin platform. They are motivated to empower industries to reduce emissions, enhance safety, and optimize operations using cutting-edge, real-time data-driven solutions. This long-standing partnership has become the driving force behind Nditive’s innovative approach to transforming industrial sustainability.

Together, we’re not just developing technology; we’re setting a new standard for operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability in industries worldwide.

5. How do you plan to measure the positive impact of your company over the next 5 years?

Over the next five years, Nditive aims to create measurable environmental, operational, and economic impact for our clients and the industries we serve. Our progress will be tracked through key metrics:

  • Emission Reductions: We will measure reductions in Scope 1 (direct) and Scope 2 (indirect) emissions across facilities utilizing our platform. For instance, a single industrial site leveraging our solution could achieve a 20–25% annual reduction in methane and CO₂ emissions, contributing significantly to their carbon neutrality goals.

  • Operational Efficiency: By using predictive analytics and AI-driven insights, we aim to document improvements in energy consumption, equipment uptime, and maintenance scheduling, translating into cost savings and reduced resource use for our clients.

  • Safety Enhancements: The real-time monitoring and predictive capabilities of our platform will lead to reduced incidents caused by hazardous gas exposure. We will track safety improvements by reporting the decrease in workplace accidents and exposure incidents over time.

  • Customer Success and Feedback: We will gather direct feedback from pilot and deployment partners like Atlantic XL, Firefly Metals, and others, ensuring our solutions align with their sustainability and operational goals.

By aligning these metrics with global sustainability goals and industry standards, Nditive will not only contribute to reducing industrial emissions but also drive the transition toward smarter, safer, and more efficient operations.

Good luck team!
